Biography

Peter Cornwell is an Australian filmmaker known for his versatility and creativity. His directorial debut, The Haunting in Connecticut, produced by Gold Circle Films and Lions Gate, starred Virginia Madsen and Elias Koteas and grossed nearly $80 million worldwide. He followed this with Mercy, an adaptation of a Stephen King story produced by Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures, featuring Frances O’Connor and Dylan McDermott. Peter has also directed episodes of Netflix’s Hemlock Grove, starring Famke Janssen and Bill Skarsgård.

Peter’s journey in filmmaking began with his award-winning short film Ward 13, a stop-motion piece that was shortlisted for an Oscar and won 17 awards, including the FIPRESCI International Critics Prize. He started his career at the Australian Broadcasting Commission before founding Trephine Production Studios to create Ward 13.

Currently, Peter is attached to several new projects and is actively developing future features.
